Biography[]

Lisa is an old friend of Nate's from Seattle. She and Nate had a "friends-with-benefits" relationship, often sleeping together but never officially dating. It is implied that Lisa was always in love with him though Nate never reciprocated and had even been pregnant by him before but had aborted the pregnancy. When Nate needs to pick up a dead body in Seattle, he and Claire take a trip up and stay with Lisa. Nate breaks down to Lisa about his AVM diagnosis and cries in her lap.

At the end of Season Two, Nate runs into Lisa at a grocery store in LA. She says she is in town for work and reveals that she is five months pregnant. It is revealed that she and Nate slept together the night he was in Seattle and she became pregnant with his child. She eventually gives birth to a daughter that they name Maya before marrying. However, their marriage is a turbulent one as she continuously believes he harbors feelings for Brenda.

When Lisa goes missing, Nate is left to care for their daughter alone with the help of his family and later receives the grim news that Lisa's body has been found washed up on the beach near Carpinteria, California. It is implied that she was murdered by her brother-in-law Hoyt, with whom she had been having an affair, but this is never confirmed.

Personality[]

Lisa is portrayed as kind, soft-spoken, and thoughtful. She is a vegan and strongly connected with nature and the earth. She is somewhat insecure throughout her marriage with Nate, believing that she is more in love with him than he is with her and suspicious of his relationship with Brenda.
